DIGITAL FABRICATION WITH KUKA

University of North Carolina at Charlotte

2017-2018

This is our Final Project in Digital Fabrication Class. We have several challenges in choosing the project. Firstly, it should be innovative, secondly, we should create endfactor for the robot. Finally, our script with grasshopper should work and simulate correctly before testing.

We fed acetone over the different surfaces with varying pressure and distance. we can create endfactor that can hold our spray gun, also we can connect the air pressure with the spray gun that can control the open and close of it to spray with our script. lastly, we build a nozzle with 3Dprint to enable us to control the spread of acetone.

We test several types of scripts form a spiral path to Voronoi one that the results were amazing. in the near future, we have the plan to create a shell with different shapes of foam and link them together with metal pieces and spray over that surface with help of Kuka.
